For nine summers the Shambhala Institute has hosted extraordinary learning banquets — rich communal feasts of ideas, learning, and celebration. In 2009 we changed our name to ALIA, Authentic Leadership in Action, to mark the launch of an expanded year-round vision. Our goal is to make the spirit, content, and connections that converge at the Summer Institute more accessible to more people, year-round. That seems to be a natural for the ALIA Institute in this time of intense global challenge.

Along with this bigger vision comes a bigger demand to reach out — to engage allies, creative collaborators, and of course financial resources. Most organizations would probably launch a new phase with a traditional appeal or perhaps a major fundraising dinner. But at ALIA we have decided to do things a little differently.

First, in the spirit of creating spaces for authentic conversation and fellowship wherever we are, we invite you to plan and prepare a celebratory ALIA dinner yourself, and invite fellow travelers from your organization or community. Second, we invite you to come on board for the very first worldwide ALIA Dinnerless Dinner.
