Hi Timothy and Ria,
I recently learned about Transition Towns too, and sent the link of this youtube video to Susan Szpakowski. I feel it is an 'innovatively practical' approach to community engagement--and a powerful example of transformative action. The relevance to our conversations within in the ALIA Institute community is amplified by their use of local currencies (as piloted at this year's summer program) and social technologies such as Open Space.

Sorry i was bit busy in last few weeks as i had to travel different parts of sri lanka to involve with leadership training program called Dreams and teams. This program is basically designed to develop leadership skills within young leaders and allow them to experience with the team that they have selected to perform.so this program is run by the British council and funded by the youth sports trust England.so i am a local tutor for this program and we were trained by our lead trainer Mr Lalith Gunarathne and i am delighted to say that he is the one who send me the link to be a member of your web site
so according to my point of view if we can develop the leadership skills within young children and give them a kind of respect for them and allow them to find the values of themselves we will be able to find lot of solutions for the burning issues like environmental pollution and conflicts. so i hope there you get a answer for your questions as well.
for example during last three weeks i had got a chance to go to two different places where they have been equally faced the terrible results of war in different forms, even though they were belong to different nationalities. so we witness the out come of this leadership program as a bridge to find a solution to make the small kids in these two nationalities to get together and build a beautiful nation together as one. so as a result of this we find that this will help us to bring north and east together. Is there a website that I can look at for the organization that has developed the training?
Thanks for your reply.
