Hello TCS Colleagues
Julie Diamond from the Process Institute in Portland is coming to Toronto to facilitate a 4 module cohort training on Deep Democracy: The Micro-Skills of Leadership, Collaboration and Facilitating Collective Change.
The program begins in March 2012 and runs until Jan 2013 with four retreat sessions (2 of which I know will be near Orillia, ,the other 2 in Toronto).
Hosted by Anima Leadership, Julie will be leading this unique year-long leadership mastery program for practitioners wanting to develop skills that will allow them to work more effectively in tough and pressured situations and to be more influential in social change efforts. You can find more information here http://animaleadership.com/what-we-offer/Our-Services/deepdemocracy
For anyone who is interested in gaining deeper knowledge and practice in the great work of Arnie Mindell and the Process Institute, this is a terrific opportunity. The Process Institute is recognized globally for their work in conflict and system level change. Julie currently serves as the Vice President of Academic Affairs for the Process Work Institute which is devoted to research and training in the Process-oriented model of individual and organizational transformation.
I have taken one 3 day program with Julie as well as other training in Deep Democracy and have the principles and practices valuable in my work. Julie is a great teacher/trainer/facilitator and expert in this work.
Deep Democracy process work is aligned with the principles and practices of ALIA.
I’ll be there! Hope to see some of you in the program.
Laurie

Dear Friends,

The opportunity to participate in creating something new happens upon us all too infrequently. When that “something new” involves something that truly matters to our lives, our practices, our workplaces, and indeed to society as a whole, the opportunity becomes a gift. We are at the beginning of just such an adventure—the creation of what we anticipate will become an accredited Master’s degree in Leadership and Organization Development, and Coa... at the Adler Graduate Professional School.

Consistent with our core team’s philosophy of how engaged and healthy contemporary organizations emerge through creating collaborative relationships, we are holding four evening Conversation Cafés to which we are inviting members of four, key constituencies: Coaches, OD Practitioners, Potential Students (anticipated to be mid-career professionals), and Potential Faculty. Each Conversation Café will be limited to a maximum of twenty participants so that we are able to create effective and engaging interactions among us all.

If you might be interested in participating more details can be found at http://goo.gl/s3Hzq

Best regards,

Mark

Greetings all!

I'm hunting for a ride to ALIA in Columbus on June 23 from Toronto. Anyone driving up?

Thanks!

Brad, be there for us who can't. Let us know if it's got legs (and heart and eyes and substance).

Be part of an amazing process in Ontario to write a Social Innovation Policy that will be presented to the Government on May 31.  There is a Summit on Monday May 16 at the MaRS centre in Toronto of business, NGOs, and Government convened by the Ministers of Research and Innovation, Citizenship and Immigration and Children and Youth Services to map how to advance the social innovation eco-system in Ontario.  Find out more at this web site and read and contribute to the policy wiki being co-created.  Be part of the system for change.   http://ontariosisummit.marsdd.com/

Hi Pamela - I'm heartened to hear your confidence in shifting the Federal government especially as a Conservative majority government begins its mandate. I think these are the times when we need to shift to sensing the spaces within organizations where employees are thirsty for dialogue and authentic connection. How can we create the conditions for virtuous viral conversations.

I suggest you look at the publications from the Public Policy Initiative. This is a very creative resource of the Deputy Ministers of the Government of Canada. Cheers.

Hi Daniel - great to hear you're coming to Columbus and to the pre-Columbus meeting in Toronto on June 13th. I took the Change Lab module last year in Halifax. It was great. I understand Adam Kahane will be in Ontario the middle of July on the invitation of Social Innovation Generation (SiG) to run some workshops. We should rehearse the future and think about what that could look like. Cheers.

Greetings from Ottawa.

I'll be taking the module: Accessing Timeless Wisdom for Leadership Today with Luana Palapala Busby-Neff, Chris Corrigan, Pawa Haiyupis & Tim Merry.

Brad, I love your idea about shifting the Ontario Government. Here in Ottawa, I'm thinking more about the federal government, which I'm guessing must be quite similar. I think about how to combine Art of Hosting, Chaordic systems and Balanced Scorecard --> I call this Wisdom Scorecard.

See you all in Columbus!

Thanks for the invite Brad. Even though I recently attended the ALIA Europe Institute in the Netherlands, you've convinced me that it would be good to connect with the Ontario ALIA community in Columbus - so I'll be coming! I'll also join you at the June 13th event here in Toronto. I look forward to meeting you and some of the other members of the local ALIA community. By the way, I attended Adam Kahane's module in the Netherlands and I would highly recommend it.

Thanks, Daniel

Monday June 13 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Inviting all Ontario ALIA members to a pre-Columbus community social sensing meeting at the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) at 215 Spadina (just north of Queen) in Toronto.  We'll be in the Alterna room on the 4th Floor.

Hosted by Mary Stacey, Greg Judelman Mark Kuznicki and myself, the meeting is a chance for us to come together before Columbus and meet each other and share ideas about what we'll be bringing to ALIA this year.
If you're from out of town and won't be in Toronto on June 13, let me know and we'll look into setting up a teleconference.
Drop me a note if you think you can join us.
