Social Presencing Theater - A View from the Inside

Sunday Night We're asked to meet as a group during the first dinner, but the table that is set aside is too small to accommodate the 15 of us who have shown up. We decide to split into smaller groups and "just get to know each other" instead of having a meeting. We ask each other "what do you think this whole social presencing thing is about?!". It turns out none of us knows! We've all signed up out of curiosity. After dinner Arawana tries to clarify the project a little bit. "We're going to do…See More

"All knowledge is for action, and all action is for friendship."

I was looking through my notes from ALiA West last May and came across this line that I had scribbled down:
"All knowledge is for action, and all action is for friendship."
Is there anyone out there who can tell me where this line comes from!?

Something close to my heart

Dear friends and colleague;

This is somewhat of a personal message and may not be ALiA related per se, but I just feel compelled to get this out any way I can.

It's about what is going on in Iran.

Unless you've been living in a cave, you know that last month there was an election in my country.

The results were challenged by millions of Iranians, a majority of them in my age group, who took to the streets.

Many were beaten, arrested and tortured.

People… Continue

Hi, Aftab,
I'm already goofing this up (I just lost a message I wrote to you... new to cyberspace chat.) Thank you for the invitation. Count me in. The book has been collecting dust on my shelf – so I look forward to having a lively reason to pick it up. I'll have to miss the 2nd meeting, but will make it to the first. Ciao! Wendy

Hi Aftab! Thanks for the personal invitation to join the local Rules of Victory Study Group in Vancouver. I'll be away in Halifax, NS attending Shambhala Congress 2009 next week so will be unable to attend the first meeting on November 12th. Will try, however, to attend all subsequent meetings. Cheers!

Aftab, check out my lastest blog :)

I trust that you will enjoy your new insights and learning this summer in Halifax with invited guest speakers and facilitators. I invite you to be open to learning an emerging field of the science of complexity, i.e., Human Systems Dynamics (HDS) and the Complex Adaptive Systems (CAS) in organic systems, i.e., organizational settings. The scholarship of Daniel Goleman and his research team in community life of humans describes it precisely as having the "science of results", to be adaptive in chaotic environments, no matter what. I am thanking you in advance for listening and being opened for giving yourself permission for new learning and new ways of being. I wish you the best ever learning at ALIA this summer. If you choose, please give my warmest regards to Glenda.

Now let's have beautiful exchanges/conversations and see our beautiful differences and notice our how beautifully we as individuals can place them in containers to make the difference that is the difference as we pursue three questions: What, so what, and now what? in multiple stories and realities. Subsequently, we would have the capacity to influence the difference that makes the difference and repeat the process, as it relates to organizational settings in chaotic environments, peace and conflict projects, substance abuse programs, programs with effective treatment for veterans suffering with symptoms of PTSD, marriages, youth at risk programs, leadership development programs, restoring lack of trust efforts, leading transformation projects, organizational culture change projects, integrating spirituality and leadership in organization development programs, transitional moments and non-verbal communication projects and/or case studies, and developing coherence in social intelligence in organizations projects and/or case studies. We look forward to the engagement and learning.

Warm regards,
Wali
