I’m Charles Baron, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at Laval University in Québec City. My experience and research interests revolve around the consciousness development of leaders and the practices that foster it (mindfulness, dialogue, presencing, action inquiry, etc.). What draws me to ALIA is the (shared) insight that the world will soon change dramatically – if only in ecological and economical terms. To navigate through this period, we will need more than just wise and creative leaders: we will need ways to tap into the collective intelligence of organization members and the community. So what I try to understand right now is how to link the spiritual and personal development process of leaders with the emergence of empowered and more conscious communities.
