Please share something about yourself, your work, and what draws you to the ALIA community.: Located in Pittsburgh, PA our Founder and Executive Director of Heroes Today is Frederick J. Johnson, Jr.. He served honorably in Iraq as a part of
Operation Iraqi Freedom III and currently holds the rank of Staff Seargent with 16 years of honorable service. Upon return home from Iraq, he became homeless as a result of self medicating his PTSD ( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Depression symptoms and was hospitalized in the VA for an entire year. While there he noticed other veterans were in the same situation. He was then motivated and inspired to generate resources and Heroes Today was born. Currently Heroes Today services the Pittsburgh, PA. area with plans of expansion to other cities and states.
