HANS LEEWENS
Encouraging people to become ‘Master of their own Destiny’, ‘Entrepreneuring with Talents’. That is what Hans Leewens aims at. As Chairman of Van Ede&Partners, the leading Dutch Outplacement, Career Management and Coaching bureau, he gave his company as its statutory aim: ‘The furthering of justice in society by a more complete development of the talents of leaders and citizens and their employment in the right place’.
After obtaining a Law degree at Leyde University he worked for 15 years for Unilever in a range of countries, in World Food Coordination in London, in Birds Eye UK, Lipton USA, in Holland, Belgium and France. He was Area Director for France and the Benelux in an Italian multinational and Managing Director of an English brewery group in Belgium where he transformed a old fashioned family business in a modern and fast expanding company, launching successful new products. In 1982 he started, with Paul van Ede, VanEde&Partners with the ambition to provide the then increasing job mobility with a positive and higher purpose. Practical spirituality aiming at encouraging people to seek work that would do full justice to their talents.
Hans Leewens is well known public speaker and author of a range of publications on outplacement, coaching and the transformation of organizations. In recent years he also was Chairman of the Van Ede Foundation, sponsoring schools and health projects in India, micro financing in Africa and other projects at the cutting edge of the development of people and society in an age of globalization and of increasing cosmic conscience. To better underpin his company’s work he started the Van Ede Academy of Liberal Arts, Natural Law and Ethics. It is his strong conviction that ethics should be based on harmony with ‘the design of the universe’ and that natural law can only be discovered by a personal practice of philosophy, starting with the liberal arts.
In 2005 Van Ede&Partners received, as the first consultancy ever, the Spirit at Work Award on the basis of its being a company with a principle-centred leadership.
