Please share something about yourself, your work, and what draws you to the ALIA community.
My passion is restoring hope to the community by building on community strengths and engaging the families that live in them. My love and desire is to understand the perspectives of all families and the providers that serve them. I believe that in order to restore the village to wellness and sustainability, their have to relationships built upon valuing one another and mutual respect. I identify and recruit parent leaders in the Englewood, Humboldt Park, Garfield, and Lawndale communities of chicago. Underserved or served, I believe that all communities deserve to be nurtured and provided the tools needed to thrive. I've served 8 years providing parent personal leadership & development trainings and coaching for providers on engaging families programs in the city of Chicago, and around the state of IL.

I continue working to develop trainings and workshops relevant to the needs of the families, and based on the priorities of the agencies and schools. Because of the relationships established in the city of Chicago, I share a wealth of knowledge, resources and connections for families and agencies in need of specific services.

Creating safe spaces for collaborative partnering among all community stakeholders has been powerful in the process of reclaiming and promoting wellness for all members. For those of us that are, we need to be connected with initiative like ALIA to be refueled for this endless journey.

Renee K. Haynie-Jackson’s passion is restoring hope to the community by building on community strengths and engaging the families that live in them. Renee’s love and desire is to understand the perspectives of all families and the providers that serve them.  Renee believes that in order to restore the village to wellness and sustainability, their have to relationships built upon valuing one another and mutual respect.  Renee recruits parents in the Englewood, Humboldt Park, Garfield, and Lawndale communities of chicago. Underserved or served, Renee believes that all communities deserve to be nurtured and provided the tools needed to thrive. Renee has for 8 years provided parent personal leadership & development trainings to parents of children in the Chicago Public Schools, IL Family Partnership Network, IL Head Starts, All Our Kids Networks, Mental Health America of IL, and now the IL Project Launch.

Renee continues to develop trainings and workshops relevant to the needs of the families, and based on the priorities of the agencies and schools. Because of the relationships Renee has built in the city of Chicago, she is a wealth of knowledge, resources and connections for families and agencies in need of specific services. Her philosophy is “feed them first, then teach them to fish for themselves.” More recently she has created the “Creating Safe Passages: Where All Children and Families Thrive.”  The Parent Carousels for IL Project Launch, consist of conversations among parents that allow them to reflect on how they were parented, other parenting styles, personal wellness, and becoming the parent that creates caring, confident, and emotional sound children. Renee believes that parents are teachers and learners of each other, and through the creation of safe spaces parents “realize how cool they really are, and how powerful their voice is.”
