Stephan R. Sengupta replied to Michael Chender's discussion 'Complexity and Complication'
Googling about simplexity I found, the following that I'd like to share. Professor Petter Wipperman about simplexity : "We long for simplicity and satisfaction. Simplexity therefore stands for a balance between the growing complexity of…

Rex Barker replied to Stephan R. Sengupta's discussion 'What about Followership ?'
Hi Elva, I have been working in the area of leadership and leaders for a while and, for me, the most obvious distinction is that Leadership is a complex set of appropriate skills and capabilities in action whereas a leader is a term we use for the…

Stephan R. Sengupta replied to Stephan R. Sengupta's discussion 'What about Followership ?'
Hello, Elva! The assumptions that the "followership" determines the leadership and the Hall-Tonna Map gave me the insight that it has a certain link with the process of maturity and with the Spiral Dynamics. Maturity process as per…

Rex Barker replied to Stephan R. Sengupta's discussion 'What about Followership ?'
I am touched by the replies and inspired to add some more. I have been an operational manager for much of my life and at the age of 62 had another of what has been a series of progressive "insights" into who I am and what life means for…

I resonate with what you have written, Rex. What you and Bohm describe assumes values priorities in the Hall-Tonna Map - Phase III - Self-Initiating (5 and 6). We can measure whether a person or group has these values (capacities). Cheers, e

Rex Barker replied to Stephan R. Sengupta's discussion 'What about Followership ?'
I am fascinated by this discussion and wondered if anyone has read David Bohm's essays "On dialogue"? An early premise was that to engage in discussion there needs to be a "leader", and then I remembered Bohm's…

Elva Castaneda de Hall replied to Stephan R. Sengupta's discussion 'What about Followership ?'
Hello, Stephan! The 30-year research of my company, Values Technology, Inc shows a connection between personal values priorities and the leader style. It is one of our assumptions that the 'followership" determines the leadership. In…

Stephan R. Sengupta replied to Stephan R. Sengupta's discussion 'What about Followership ?'
Hi John, I understand that some may have an issue with the term 'follow'. Since it is the commonly accepted word I will continue to use it. However, I suggest you read it as 'fellow'. ;-)) In fact the more I try to define and…

Here’s my Dharma :

We (my Friend Valérie and I) are developing a Social Model. This model is based on living systems and it has two dimensions.

The first dimension is a vertical or spiritual dimension in the "now-here and no-where" that is aimed to free human kind from religions and to allow every one to develop moral, ethic, his personal leadership and to free his power of creation. It is also aimed to develop the inner sense that we are all connected and one. The vertical dimension uses neuro-science and psychology among other tools. To have a better and wider range of acceptance we are building the vertical axis using constructivism principles. In other words the vertical axis is not incompatible with most systems of beliefs as we are building it using their similarities without being a syncretism. The idea is not to fight against systems of beliefs but to use them as bricks for the construction of a different reality that serves the purpose of the vertical axis.

The second dimension is the horizontal one and is based on the theory of living systems. The idea is to build a social model inspired on biology. Imagine building a model of teams that are self-reproductive per divisions like cells. The functioning of the team is based on "symbiosis" in order to "emerge" not only as a living system it self but to "emerge" with "creative" solutions that best solves their problems and fulfills their needs. As we know the aim of complex systems is to become more complex (e.g. : cells makes an organ, organs an individual, individuals a team, teams an organization, and so on…). Imagine that as problems are getting more complex, teams-cells start to collaborate in symbiosis. As life goes on, teams-cells will symbiotically combine themselves because the aim of life is to get more complex. We have nothing more to do than inseminate life to enough Stem-cells.

Only technology brings solutions to problems. We beleive that our model is the Social Technology that will answer most of the challenges that we are facing in this emerging 21st century. We believe that as the model expands in the mass, we may well get the ultimate Weapon of Mass Creation!

Underlying is the idea of a social harmony (not an order), an auto-regulated society of abundance. The idea is not to launch a new static "-ism" but a dynamic capable to question itself in order to evolve based on the pattern of life.
