I was a founder artist contributor at the dialog on leadership project, now relocated. Friendship is the domain i seek against transactional relationships. I have enjoyed kind, supportive and wise friendship and 'companionship' with Joseph Jaworski and Napier Collyns over some years, whose combined age is 180 years ;-)

In 2001-2 Michael Chender asked me for feedback prior to launching what was then the proposed Shambhala Inst. I said it would be a great success, because it was inclusive of the arts, which go far deeper than the idea of the supposed inner 'blank canvas'.

Also, i include the influence here of Arawana Hayashi, having been a guest in her cottage home in Accord NY.

I am also privileged to have the friendship of the Venerable Miao Lin, Gampo Abbey, Nova Scotia. Just recently i shared an intimate space with Lama Lhanang Rinpoche, exchanging creative gifts in friendship.

In 2007 i was invited to co-found Reos Partners, London, which i left in 2008 to help co-found through a leadership programme what is now a not-for-profit Global Climate, Sustainability and Leadership centre in France.

I am a contributor and Arts and Creativity editor at Integral Review, and a contributor and guide at Integral Leadership Review.

I am a friend of Mel Lone Hill, (Lakota Souix) whose father was the last Lakota 'Holy Man' and who recovered from Washington many of their stolen rights. I am also a 'Keeper' of the Bylaws of the Cherokee (Sandhills) Tribe and a member of Maka Si Tomni [Surround the Universe] a not-for-profit founded by Patric Roberts, for the purpose of promoting and conserving Lakota Nation Culture, Heritage and Elder Wisdom.

I recognise many faces and names here, demonstrating how small the world is becoming day on day.

Yes I do see it as a process of immersion - similar to the process described by the theory U. I like the notion that we immerse on the 'left side' and that something emerges on the 'right side'. Immersion seems to capture this process of connecting to different levels of 'source' ending with the I-in-now at the bottom of the U. An image that to me is useful for understanding emergence is that of an ocean or a lake, where something is slowly ascending - at first revealing the contours of something that after a while begins to show a larger pattern - or landmass :-) I find that when the ocean is in motion it can be difficult to see this pattern whereas if we manage to quiet the ocean (perhaps an image of emotion or mind), then we can begin to discern the pattern that emerges in and outside us more clearly. What is emergence to you?

By the way, I am currently collaboration with the Oxford based Reos Office about a Change Lab with the theme 'rethinking leadership education' - as you probably know the Change Lab approach draws much inspiration from the U process. I can send you the invitation.

- and now I will immerse myself in a sunny Scandinavian Saturday :-)

Thanks for your comment. I appreciate the question. I will immerge into the question, hold it for a while and see what emerges ;-) I notice from your profile that you are a 'keeper' of the bylaws of the Cherokee tribe. Would love to hear more about this. Are you familiar with 'the delicate lodge' teachings?
