Earlier this year in Nova Scotia,
48 leaders in social innovation gathered together for 3 days to learn more about what it takes to shift their efforts for change to another level of scale and impact, and to deepen the practice in working as core teams for strategic change. This December, Tim Merry, Toke Moller, Monica Nissen, Frederike Vos and Tatiana Glad team up in the Netherlands to host the first Art of Social Innovation in Europe.
The Hub Amsterdam has joined as co-host of this initiative, driven by noticing a pattern of questions that many changemakers in leadership positions – in the Netherlands and beyond through our network – have been asking:
- What does it take for front-runners in social innovation to successfully lead in the face of a complex, diverse and rapidly changing reality?
- What does it take to design and enable large-scale systems change?
- How can we better leverage our network – and our relationships across networks – for visible and sustained shift in society?
In addition, we wondered:
What is our collective insight on where social innovation is now most needed? So we seek to gather 25 leading social innovators across different sectors to take a ‘deep dive’ into these questions and the practice of social innovation, and to share our experience working on large scale systems change and multi-stakeholder initiatives over a number of years and in various contexts: health care, youth regeneration, poverty and social marginalisation, water, finance, sustainability, and more. This is a training-meets-retreat, for collaboration acceleration!
